President Khatami Orders Developing Hydroponic Irrigation System in Agricultural Lands

KISH President Seyed Mohammad Khatami ordered Monday the ministries of agriculture and construction jihad to support innovator Hossein Shirazi who has designed a modern hydroponic system to irrigate the agricultural lands, the Kish Public Relations Department reported.
The secretary of the free trade zones high council receiving information on the initiative work of an innovator in Kish called for the president to support him to develop his system which makes economical use of water.
The hydroponic agricultural system makes it possible to grow agricultural products with small water resources.
President Khatami on Monday ordered the two key ministries of agriculture and construction jihad to help the innovator of the system develop his projects while trying to use the system in their activities.
According to the report, Hossein Shirazi managed to irrigate each hectare of land with only 25 cubic meters of water. Over a period of 100 days he has managed to grow and harvest 85 tons of vegetables and summer crop in an area of 5500 squared meters of lands.
